I longed to paint since childhood,
but for a long time, I kept it at arm's length.
I told myself: if you're not good enough, you can't paint.

I spent years thinking that way — and then I was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Fortunately, it was caught early and I was able to return to my life,
but I decided I wanted to live without leaving things undone.

Around that time, I discovered abstract painting and began to create.
The way I feel about it changes each time I look.
Crop it differently and it becomes a whole new painting.

Now I find myself drawn more to color itself than to form.
Rather than drawing precise lines, I layer colors that feel right in each moment,
and welcome the unexpected encounters the paint has to offer.

The same painting looks different depending on who sees it, and when.
I hope to cherish each of those changes.
